Heather Peace Support gig

Posted by & filed under Gigs.

As many of you know I have been working with a talented lady called Jes Stretton for some time now. We co-wrote her EP together and I’ve had the privilege of performing a few of her live shows with her.

So it all started when Jes entered a competition to win a supporting slot for Heather Peace at Manchester Academy 2. With a plethora of competition and some with some staggeringly high votes already we were blown away when not only did she get into the top 3 but she was then selected by Heather Peace herself.

Needless to say this was a big gig to play. Academy 2 has a capacity of 900 and is based in the student union in Manchester where over the past 50 years artists such as The Who, Stevie Wonder, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Pink Floyd, Slade, AC/DC, Dire Straits, Status Quo, and The Cure have all performed there before Academy 1 was built which then become the main venue.

big crowd

It was an amazing gig and the crowd were well and truly up for it singing along to Luther Vandross Never too much and Outkasts Hey Ya as well as a couple of Jes’s original songs. It seems like the crowd enjoyed it as much as we did with Jes selling out of EPs and a long line of people waiting for her autograph at the end of the show. All in all a great night!
