Twin Forks: Night & Day Cafe, Manchester

So I got into a new band this week. Twin Forks, they are awesome.

Twin Forks are a brand new band made up of members from previous bands including Dashboard Confessional, The Narrative and Bad Books. I stumbled upon these guys when checking the Dashboard Confessional website to see if they were touring anytime soon as my Fiancée is a fan. They were not touring… but Twin Forks were due to play the Night and Day Café in Manchester that week!

I immediately went and had a look at who Twin Forks were and what they were doing. I was instantly impressed and so bought the tickets then and there.

In terms of musical style, Twin Forks hang somewhere around the folk/pop sound that seems to be getting more and more popular in the UK. Unfortunately they only have a 4 track EP out so far which is not nearly enough as far as I’m concerned however, the good thing is you can get it for free!

Simply send an email to twinforksmusic@gmail.com to get a link back enabling you to download the EP for nothing!

Twin Forks Playing

Their actual performance on the night was astonishingly good. There was such good energy and just an immense feeling of fun conveyed by the whole band from start to finish. I actually can’t remember having been to a gig that was that much fun and I was genuinely disappointed when the set came to a close.

Twin Forks Merchandise

My disappointment was short lived however as Chris and Suzie from the band came out into the main area to meet people and sell their merch. We got chatting, I bought the guys a beer and we got to generally hang out with them for a good half an hour, which just made the night even more awesome than it already was.

Chris and Suzie were both the nicest people you could wish to meet; they were so open, really took the time to chat to us and repeatedly thanked us for coming to the show.
So go check out their music because they deserve a moment of your time, believe me.

Meeting Twin Forks

They also mentioned that they will be releasing 2 full albums soon, one will be a covers album and the other will be original material so I will definitely be keeping an eye out for that…. Cannot wait!

Here’s a video of ‘Scraping Up The Pieces’ in the mean time – Definitely worth a watch!
