This video is fantastic and shows it’s not just rock or country that you can play on a guitar with enough time and practice you can work out anything!

Ewan Dobson, the player in this video, is a Canadian fingerstyle guitarist who is actually diagnosed with ADHD and OCD.

ADHD can make learning guitar difficult but some sufferers find it can actually help and reduce symptoms it can simply depends on your interest in the instrument. If a suffer shows interest in guitar then it is a great aid for concentration as a lot of practice and patience is involved and because it is a hands on learning experience it is easier for the student to remember and take in what their learning.

It isn’t just ADHD sufferers that would benefit from guitar either. With more technology accessible to us we find ourselves multitasking more and more which this study proves is affecting our ability to focus solely on the information that is important to us and to filter out what is not. Taking up a hobby like learning an instrument helps focus and concentration in all of us due to the practice and patience that is involved!
